Here are the symptoms:
It is central air.
The air is on but is not cool.
There is a major leak when the AC is turned on. So major that is has caused water to seep under the floors and warp the wood. Luckily we noticed it and have a pail to catch most of the leakage.
The filter can hardly stand up to the air that is sucking it.
Just today I realized that whenever the filter is in more water leaks; when the filter is not in the leaking stops considerably. We’ve had the air conditioner “fixed” before and the man said it didn’t need freon. If the air isn’t getting cool where all this water coming from?
I have checked the grilles and found nothing blocking the air from getting in. There is no sign of ice anywhere. I feel no sign of any coolness anywhere near the unit inside. That’s why I am so confused about the water…and there is SO much water.
